Announcent Time

Hey All!

So…I find that we have not been consistent in our postings. I blame my human. It’s not my fault I don’t have thumbs. ANYWAY… we’ve actually been wanting to post this subject for a while, but had to wait for things to be final…

…..

(Let the suspense settle in…)

Wait for it…

Wait for it…

(Human, move it along!)

My Human has just purchased a business!

We are terribly excited! Mostly because I get to go manage the place and launch my own personal line of Particular Puppy things in her boutique.

So, let’s tell you a little bit about our place:

Liquid Canvas is located on our towns historic 25th Street. This is our happening area of town: super cute farmer’s markets, festivals, art walks etc. It’s also tremendously dog centric so there are always furry pals to meet.

At Liquid Canvas we offer wine education while painting in a public class or as a private party. This is all done under the instruction of one of our many talented artists! Our artists paint along with you and offer help during the whole process. We LOVE to watch our customers paint for the first time and come away loving their masterpiece, with plans to come back again!

We host all kinds of private parties, as well as super fun offsite events.  (All of which, yours truly, can be requested to attend.)

Our darling boutique is ever evolving and will soon be carrying canine couture. Yes, we are also placing “Particular Puppy” items in stores for the first time ever!

Come in, sniff around, beg for trea….oh wait that’s just me.

Come in, look around, and hang with furry creatures while you wine and paint!!

Lost and Found

 Hi everyone! Happy New Year!!

Today's topic is short and sweet. You see, I’ve developed a little habit of running away lately.

My humans are NOT impressed. I find the best time to take off is in blizzard conditions.

This makes it especially hard to find me because I blend right in. I’m a master at camouflage.

We did a little digging, figuratively #lame, and wanted to talk about how helpful tags actually are in recovering a lost pet.

According to ASPCA
”Forty-nine percent of dog guardians found their dog by searching the neighborhood, and 15 percent of the dogs were recovered because they were wearing an ID tag or had a micro-chip;”

We decided if it helps at. all. then we need it as a precaution.

So Let’s talk accessories!

Well…sort of. We’re talking ID tags specifically. You see, my girl human has an obsession about me wearing my tags NO MATTER WHAT! My other human doesn’t see the big deal. We live in the country after all and I have a micro-chip sheesh. Well today while taking some photos of me (because why not) she got to wondering about the personalization of ID tags.

My human spent TONS of time picking the perfect tags for us.

My feisty sister has this tag
This one is mine
So we want to know what are your safety precautions and do your ID tags express your personality? We can't wait to hear from you!

H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N

What have we here?

Let’s just talk, for a second, about how much we LOVE Halloween! I mean, you get to be anything you want for a night. In Gracie’s case she has to be anything her girl human wants and she's never getting out of this holiday.

When choosing a costume we tend to play off of Gracie’s natural features. We find that this makes the costume much more adorable.

Since she’s white and fluffy we watch for ideas year round and gather inspiration to keep on hand in case a costume opportunity comes knocking at our door. We’ll be ready. We’re always ready.
(In fact, we really wish costume opportunities would come around more often.)

This year we decided on a Unicorn costume. It made sense to us because while other dogs have to dress in white clothing, we could just add some accessories and be on our way.

To make this costume yourself click here.

 Proud Pony Pose

Behold my horn

I have no idea why this keeps happening

Yeah, we found a castle

We’ve drawn inspiration from clouds, cotton candy, Beanie Baby’s, panda bears, and most other fluffy animals. These are just a few of the costumes we've created over the past couple of years:

Later this week we’ll do a little reminder to all you pet parents about Halloween safety for your pups. See you then!

This Canine Community

Aside from the fact that we LOVE all things cute, cuddly, and canine; supporting friends and small business is dear to our hearts. One of the visions for this blog is to honestly get to know our readers and support them.

The body shop we’ve referenced on occasion is much more to us than just our last place of employment. Alpine Body Shop is our family owned and operated business for over 30years. I (the girl human) grew up there.

Everyday was "take our kids to work day"
This girl loves her tools

I remember putting our handprints in the concrete as the foundation was poured for the office. As I grew, so did my parents business. Anyone with self-employed parents can probably attest to the ownership and satisfaction we to take part in as a family.

Without writing an entire novel on the life of a child of self-starters, I’ll sum things up by saying that supporting local and small business means a lot to me.

You might be wondering what has to do with the Particular Puppy?  We’ve been fortunate enough to become acquainted with numerous small businesses through our dog community. We’ve often been able to give input and discuss with friends as they begin the journey of starting their own business.

As I watch and encourage those whom I’ve grown to care about, I realized that the community we’re a part of is a special one. We do so much more than post photos and “like” to display our support. We have evolved to become a different kind of family. We rejoice together in personal achievements, reaching milestones, birthdays are celebrated, losses are mourned and sorrow felt more deeply than I would have ever imagined. We share our dogmas…and this has been done through our dogs.

As humans we’ve created unique bonds through the act of displaying and sharing our animals’ lives.

That’s an amazing thing! We share so much together.

I realized that we know a lot about each other through the eyes of our beloved pets, but we don’t know the human behind it all on a personal level.

I think we can do so much more together by learning about the friends we’ve inadvertently made through our pets.

I’m excited to get to know the professions we have represented. It would be a dream come true to work with you professionally, brought together by our mutual passion!

I’m excited to show off the talents you have to offer, support you in your business endeavors, and simply get to know who you are as a person, not just the human behind the dogs we love.

Feature articles are underway. Send us an email to be in a feature post, we’d love the chance!
