Zoom Zoom

Recently Gracie and I set off for Motor City.

Some asked why we would possibly be interested in Michigan during winter, a valid question for these Florida girls leaving the Sunshine State.  While temperatures dipped to an arctic -17 (BEFORE wind chill!)  there is no place we would have rather been.

Fort Lauderdale Airport

A year ago I would have never thought I’d be doing something like this. Gracie and I were headed to meet someone we’d met over the Internet. And not just meet her; no, we were about to STAY with this person!

We first “met” our new friend through Instagram. We used a lot of the same hashtags. (You know how it is.)

I’m going to say we’re officially adventurous! Perhaps it’s more correctly defined as crazy.  Who can say?

Watch for our next posts to learn:

High Tea

Hello friends!

An exciting thing happened last week. Actually, all of last week was exciting. It started out with a house full of dogs, as every good story does. We had just picked up a 13year old foster dog and had two doggie friends dropped off for a week of pupsitting. It was then I realized that it would be Gracie’s fourth birthday on Wednesday.

Having a meeting and event planner in our home should constitute fabulous parties all of the time right? Wrong. We used to have parties for every occasion, and even just for no reason at all, but now we are in a less conducive situation for the party lifestyle. The creative juices have started to wane.

It’s been no secret that since Gracie came into our family I have not thrown her a proper birthday party. I have a lot to make up for. Originally, I’d planned to do a small photo shoot having tea with the birthday girl. But now we had built-in party guests! I furiously scanned Pinterest and my left brain. A few trips to the craft store, and a couple all-nighters later and we were in birthday business again.
